🎓 SYIP Internship Spotlight

This summer, Vida Custom Designs proudly welcomed six bright students from Miami Lakes Educational Center (Grades 10–11) as part of the Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP). Over the course of five weeks, these students explored hands-on fabrication, design, and media production in a real-world business environment. (Photo below shows former 2024 Interns and 2025 Interns as some of the originals continue to work for us after they graduate)

ENGINEERING – FSA Award Trophy Design

At the request of School Board Member Roberto Alonso (District 4), plaques were commissioned to honor newly designated "A" schools under the Florida Standards Assessments (FSA). Additionally, custom trophies were created for schools that maintained their "A" status for a second consecutive year and were recognized in 2024.

The modeling, 3D printing, and testing of these custom trophies were led entirely by our engineering intern team:

  • Stewart
  • Andy
  • Marlon

This team took the concept and brought it to life—refining the structure, optimizing print settings, and ensuring the final result was both durable and visually impressive.

🎥 A Look Behind the Scenes: Weekly Recap Videos

While the trophy was led by the engineering team, the internship experience as a whole included every intern’s contributions. From shop tours and fabrication challenges to social media content and editing, each week was documented by our video intern Mariana and supported by the full team.

We are beyond proud of all six students who participated in this year’s SYIP program:
